All Queensland children have access to kindy wherever they live. Kindergarten programs are offered in long day care services and stand-alone kindergarten services. The Queensland Government also delivers kindergarten programs in a range of other delivery options where the market is not able to deliver a kindergarten program. Options include eKindy, State Delivered Kindergarten and Hospital kindy.

Kindergarten services
Kindergarten services are generally not-for-profit organisations administered by a volunteer parent management committee or operated by not-for-profit organisations with parent advisory committees.
They usually operate during school hours each school term, and the learning program is delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher.
Kindergarten in long day care services
Long day care services may offer an
approved kindergarten program delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher
Tip: Choosing between a kindergarten service and a kindergarten program offered by a long day care service typically depends on your individual family lifestyle.
