Implementation considerations
Prerequisites: Group training deliverers should:
- be qualified in the content field
- work collaboratively with educators in a co-design, co-researcher model
- demonstrate deep/working knowledge, understanding of the content and its translation in and connection to the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QLKG) and kindergarten programs
- demonstrate the ability to support educators to apply the content through best practice/evidence-based teaching and learning.
Considerations: This item cannot be used to supplement organisational training requirements or mandates, service governance practices, human resource or financial management.
The purpose of this approach is to enhance the knowledge, skills and capability of educators in a targeted content area and strengthen the learning program to respond to the needs of children across the kindergarten cohort.
Backfill: Services should consider the cost of providing backfill if required to allow educators to undertake training and any subsequent follow-up and engagement.
Contacts: Services can use local networks to source appropriate providers. Services negotiate scheduling and other details directly with training providers or organisations.
